Bruschette al Capuliato di Pomodori Secchi

Bruschetta with Capuliato of Dried Tomatoes

Description:
Bruschetta with dried tomato capuliato is a quick appetizer or snack, full of Mediterranean flavor and aromas. The sweetness of dried tomatoes, combined with the savory touch of capers and the delicate spiciness of oregano, makes this dish ideal for an aperitif or a tasty side dish.

Serves: 4 people
Difficulty: Easy
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of dried tomato capuliato (180 g)
  • 1 baguette or rustic bread
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sprig fresh oregano (or 1 teaspoon dried oregano)
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil for seasoning

Allergens: Gluten, sulphites (contained in capuliate)

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the bread:
Cut the baguette or rustic bread into slices about 1.5 cm thick.
If you prefer, you can grill the bread in a non-stick pan for a more toasted flavor, or put it under the grill of the oven at 180°C for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes crispy and golden.
  2. Prepare the garlic (optional):
If you like the taste of garlic, cut a clove in half and rub the cut side on each slice of toast. This will give a light garlicky scent without being too overpowering.
  3. Season the capuliato:
In a bowl, take the sun-dried tomato capuliato and add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Mix well to make the consistency softer and easier to spread. If you want a little more spiciness, you can add a pinch of chili powder or more chili pepper from the capuliato.
  4. Spread the capuliato on the bread:
Using a spoon, generously spread the capuliato on each slice of toast. Try to distribute the capuliato evenly to enhance each bite.
  5. Decorate and serve:
Add a little fresh or dried oregano on top of the bruschetta for an extra aromatic touch. Finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil for a glossy and fragrant finish.

Suggestion:

You can enrich the bruschetta by adding black olives or a little grated salted ricotta on top, for a creamy and tasty contrast. If you prefer a fresher touch, you can also add slices of fresh tomato on top of the capuliato, creating a mix of textures.

Thank you for dedicating yourself to this recipe! I wish you much taste and satisfaction in the kitchen. Until next time and enjoy your meal!
